  • Job Description

Forget about boring, traditional paint-by-numbers insurance sales. Ready for a more challenging, bigger canvas? Join a creative organization where you’ll connect with some of the most entrepreneurial, spirited, energetic people you’ll ever meet in your life.

We’re looking for an Advanced Case Consultant with insurance business savvy and charismatic gusto to play an integral role with the Great-West Life Product Solutions Centre team.  In this fast-paced, results-driven environment, it’s go time for you as you deliver product expertise, advanced sales strategies and industry insight. You’ll expand and multiply the acquisition of life insurance business by providing insight into life insurance opportunities and product design with business owners, professionals and affluent clients through working with a short list of top advisors in our Freedom 55 Financial, Wealth and Insurance Solutions Enterprise and our affiliated partnerships with Managing General Agencies and National Accounts - some of the finest in the business. Our product shelf is robust, dependable and effective and we’re looking to you to showcase to advisors the power behind our solutions.

    To start:

    • Your experience is rock solid, with 7-10 years experience with a focus on life insurance and 3-5 years experience with large and complex product design. But you’re not content to carry the bag anymore. And you’re not satisfied with good — you insist on leading the way. As lead large case life insurance expert and relationship manager, you’ll join a proprietary insurance team that commands industry respect, defines success by growth and is generously rewarded with compensation and benefits.
    • You’re an authority on life insurance products, sales concepts, the insurance industry and applicable legislation. You understand tax and estate planning related to life insurance solutions as if you wrote the book.
    • With your credibility and expertise (CFP or CLU), you’re ready to lead, inspire and set the agenda. You’ve got a team eager for a motivational leader, and you’ll be supported with proven processes, product solutions, strategies and technical support.

    Where you’ll really shine:

You’re creative and disciplined. You recognize you’re on your own — there’s no activity if you don’t self-generate.

Your base is Vancouver, but your real office is wherever your advisors need you—within the Greater Vancouver Region. Your day runs the gamut from researching trends and business growth to sharing actionable ideas. You transition seamlessly from your desktop to your iPad, iPhone and face-to-face. Your territory is wide, and you welcome the road.

You thrive because you get personal satisfaction that comes from helping others succeed. Your mentoring nature is part of your DNA, and you appreciate the key role you play in helping Canadians reach their goals and dreams.

If you believe you’ve got what it takes, and want to make a difference, we want to hear from you.

    Desired skills and experience

    • Minimum 7 years experience in financial/insurance services industry
    • 3-5 years experience in large and complex product design
    • Post secondary education, preferably in finance, accounting or taxation; or equivalent work experience
    • Strong leadership, sales and relationship-building skills
    • Superior knowledge of Canadian life insurance products, sales strategies, the financial services industry and the market place
    • Advanced understanding of tax principles related to life insurance solutions
    • Hold valid financial services designations, such as CFP or CLU
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
    • Ability to travel throughout an assigned region using your own means of transportation
