    Our IT professionals make a significant contribution to the companies' business goals through the effective delivery of value-added information services.  These services include setting technology direction, project management, analysis, system architecture, software development and the provision of operational support services.


    We currently have an opening within our IT Service Management (ITSM) team for a Senior Analytics, BI Specialist in Winnipeg, London or Toronto.


    This role requires expert knowledge of the data managed by tools and systems, used and supported within the Service Management Office (SMO), including; BMC Remedy IT Service Management transactional DB, Configuration Management System (component of ITSM, based on BMC Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and BMC BPPM/TrueSight, among others. 


    The candidate must have an in-depth understanding as to which reporting tool is suitable to fulfill the reporting/Dashboard needs and then design and create (often very complex), pulling and integrating operational data from multiple sources.  Among other things, this information is used for IS Financial Management function to chargeback shared infrastructure services to the business units.  This position will be the mentor / advisor for junior resources and be the primary person to work with stakeholders on requirements.


    Qualifications and Competencies:


    Must Have:

    • 7-10 years’ experience as a data/reporting analyst working with tools and data to extract reports
    • Completion of post-secondary education including college certificate, diploma or degree or equivalent education and experience
    • 7+ Years experience working with ITSM tools and related data sources
    • Ability to speak to stakeholders at every level to elicit their reporting requirements and document these requirements in report specification documents.
    • Ability to work with complex data sources, structures and database schemas to extract and manipulate information from SMO tools and databases
    • Ability to assess reporting specifications and propose appropriate technologies to meet the business requirement
    • Drive the future of Analytics and dashboards within the organization.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, responsiveness to requests and a continual commitment to customer service.
    • Ability to work independently, with little supervision to get the job done3+ years experience with IT Service Management operational databases, reporting and related search and query technologies

    Nice to Have:

    • Expert level experience with BMC Software ITSM reporting databases and technologies, including: BMC Analytics, Smart Reporting and BPPM/TrueSight
    • Experience in Business analytics or other platforms is an asset.
    • ITIL certification


    • Respond to stakeholder requests, and reported issues in a professional manner
    • Conduct workshops to gather requirements and write a specification document
    • Prepare estimates for request for new reports or enhancements to existing reports
    • Prepare and seek approval of report specifications, and report design including;
      • frequency and timing
      • real-time versus historical
      • data content and format
      • proposed technology/tool
      • query and filtering criteria
    • Mentor junior reporting team members on reporting requirements gathering, creating specifications and design
    • Mentor junior reporting team members on documenting specifications
    • Monitor report delivery
    • Review report enhancement requests and maintain the report design document
    • Provides training support for the use of new reports and tools
