    This is your opportunity to help transform one of Canada's largest and most trusted companies and join the Digital Customer Experience unit of Great-West Life. We operate like a start-up within one of Canada's largest insurance and financial institutions. We have collaborative new offices in London, Toronto and Montreal.

     

    We are looking for a bright and talented Visual Designer to design for multiple digital applications in an elegant and insightful way. Based in London  the Visual Designer works with the Digital Customer Experience and Digital Marketing teams to create graphics that helps tell stories, engage the user and elevate the brand.

    Accountabilities:

    • Collaborate with internal teams to help meet customer and business needs to to help develop a creative strategy and turn it into engaging experiences
    • Create and effectively present visual design deliverables including mood boards, iconography, infographics, photography, illustrations and high fidelity prototypes to stakeholders and teams
    • Think in terms of patterns, components and design systems to support cross-product design consistency
    • Stay current on emerging trends in design, accessibility, UI design patterns and user-centered methodologies
    • Create beautiful design solutions for mobile and web, email, social media and occasionally PowerPoint while following brand style guides
    • Design pixel perfect cross-platform user interfaces and interactive page layouts
    • Balance passion about design while being practical about what can be achieved in realistic timelines
    • Visualize and articulate your creative ideas and vision, as well as rationalize solutions with the team, stakeholders and external partners
    • Collaborate with our UX, Content, Animation, Marketing and Front-End Development teams to implement design in an collaborative environment
    • Travel occasionally to London, Toronto or Winnipeg to communicate progress

    Qualifications and Competencies:

    • 3+ years of professional experience in Visual Design, Graphic Design, UI or Interaction Design role
    • A demonstrable portfolio of work that exhibits your process for solving design problems in a creative and attractive method (focus on UI design, illustration and typographic skills)
    • Strategic design thinking that considers the customer’s goals, business goals and creative solutions
    • Experience with industry tools such as Sketch, InVision, Adobe CC
    • Ability to be flexible on a team and work in an open and collaborative environment
    • Excellent communicator with ability to effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and stakeholders
    • Detail oriented with ability to manage time effectively
    • Passionate about balancing user experience with and all things digital
    • Relationship builder who understands the importance of a happy customer
