    This position is suited for an individual who shows strong attention to detail, is highly motivated with excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and thrives in an environment that is constantly changing. The Contracting and Licensing Database specialist (CLS) is accountable for the administration of career events affecting Freedom 55/WISE and GWL. In the CLS position you are a facilitator between the advisors/corporations and field management, and the regulatory boards and securities commissions, with respect to things like advisors who are incorporating, adding associate advisors, obtaining a corporate contracts and getting properly licensed and set up on systems.

     

    The successful applicant will be expected to learn and become familiar with the company’s rules and processes as well as the legal requirements of the governing boards for each province, and be able to apply that knowledge to a variety of scenarios to determine what is required from a legal and systems perspective.

      

    Accountabilities:

    • Analyzing eligibility and handling the set up of advisors, corporations and corporation changes for Freedom 55 and WISE in accordance with LL guidelines, provincial (resident and non-resident) Insurance Council regulations and MFDA (Mutual Fund Dealers Associations) compliance regulations
    • Set up and administration of mutual fund licensing for GWL Gold Key advisors
    • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with the Insurance Councils and Securities Commissions, WISE Operations Managers, GWL business partners, as well as many other internal and external business partners
    • Providing information and support to advisors, management, distribution VP’s and other business areas in an accurate and timely manner
    • Providing support and guidance to advisors and mgmt through the registration and maintenance of life and mutual fund licenses as well career events and corporation changes
    • Managing system requirements for financial management appointments and reversions, as well field realignments
    • Ability to understand and apply provincial regulations as it pertains to corporate licensing and payment of mutual fund commissions, as well as interpreting articles of incorporation and share registries to meet company requirements
    • Handling unique and complex issues and problems as they arise
    • Updating and maintaining contracting & licensing information on various internal systems including the Rep/Org database, SAS and Investment Centre, as well as on external web applications, such as the National Registration Database

      

    Qualifications and Competencies:

    • Demonstrates strong communication skills both written and verbal
    • Proficient in using Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
    • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated initiative, analytical and problem solving skills
    • Strong team player – able to work in a team to meet overall dept deadlines, with the ability to work independently
    • Focus on quality and timeliness to meet deadlines
    • Strong organization skills – Able to handle multiple priorities while managing deadlines
    • Ability to work in an unstructured environment
    • Flexibility – Able to work overtime when required
    • Bilingual (French/English) - Proficient written and verbal communication skills is a requirement
