    Our Group Customer line of business is looking to hire System (Solution) Architects that will advance our architecture strategy with an emphasis on solution delivery.  Reporting to the Portfolio Solution Architect, the System (Solution) Architect integrates and aligns Business, Information, Application, and Technology architecture components and viewpoints into a solution architecture.  The solution architecture ensures the achievement of solutions that have an appropriate balance of functional and non-functional features, enabling near term value and supporting long term sustainability.




    • Provide solution leadership on delivery teams.
    • Collaborate with other architects within and outside of Group Customer to develop end to end current and target state solution architectures.
    • Creating high value sustainable documentation that assists with decision making, estimating, detailed design, and ongoing support and modification of our business and systems architecture.
    • Work with business sponsors, process optimization teams, and other players to align functional and non-functional system qualities with current and future business requirements.
    • Lead the alignment of business outcomes with the technical maturity of our tools and teams.
    • Work in partnership with delivery leaders and teams to achieve objectives within workforce, funding, and time constraints.
    • Evaluate technologies that support the realization of strategy.
    • Provide detailed oversight and management of the non-functional aspects of our solutions.
    • Support risk management processes, such as security and application health evaluations and related remediation recommendations.
    • Contribute to strategy by proactively identifying areas and opportunities to use technology to advance our strategy, and through feedback/recommendations related to GC Architecture modernization objectives.

    Qualifications and Competencies:

    • Bachelor of Commerce, Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent degree and experience.
    • Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience in complex IT environments with significant legacy systems
    • Understanding of the Financial Service Industry, preferably with a focus on Life and Health Insurance and Wealth products.
    • Experience with business, information and software modeling.
    • Experience with modeling and engineering system solutions of high risk or complexity
    • Understanding of industry technology and directions
    • Knowledge of legacy and current, and emerging architecture patterns, such as SOA, Client / Server, MDM, and APIs
    • Strong communication, analytical and design skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
    • Working knowledge of TOGAF is considered an asset
