  • Job Description

    Great-West Life is seeking an Actuarial Associate with strong achievements in both their academic studies and Society of Actuaries exams to join our Actuarial Resource Rotation Program. The purpose of the Rotation Program is to allow aspiring Actuaries to gain a wide variety of exposure to different areas in the company through rotations while they progress toward their Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries and Canadian Institute of Actuaries. As an Actuarial Associate you are a key member of a highly respected, professional, actuarial team and will have an opportunity to work in the following main areas: 

    • Reinsurance Pricing
    • Reinsurance Valuation and Financial Management
    • Enterprise Risk Management
    • Risk Analysis
    • Capital Management
    • Other Corporate areas

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 3 years of actuarial work experience.
    • University degree in a quantitative field such as Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Computational Finance or Engineering.
    • ASA designation or near completion and must be actively pursuing the FSA / FCIA actuarial qualifications 
    • Working knowledge of GGY AXIS and SQL server is an asset
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to convey complex technical topics
    • Strong MS Excel, Word, Access and VBA skills
    • Committed to delivering results in the required timeframe with a high degree of accuracy
    • Proactive, self-directed, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
    • Strong attention to detail and creative in problem solving
