    What we’re building:

    Our Corporate Technology line of business is looking to hire a Senior Systems Analyst (SAN) in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Reporting to the AVP, Corporate Technology (HR), the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring and leading the effective application of technology to solve HR business challenges and enable new business opportunities.


    As a member of the Corporate Technology team, the SAN works closely with the HCM Functional Lead for the Corporate Technology team to ensure alignment on work activities, deliverables and timelines. Also with the HR Business Sponsors and Business Representatives to capture business requirements, develop solutions, evaluate the business case, and define the business and systems requirements. This role also works with Project Managers, Systems Architects, QA lead and senior Systems Developers in a shared responsibility for project feasibility evaluation, quality and completion 


    What you’ll do:

    • Direct engagement with HR business partners to identify business needs including management of associated in-take process
    • Documentation of business requirements and review of same with HR business partners to ensure correctness and alignment
    • Identification of all stakeholders associated with work tasks/deliverables and engagement of same as required
    • Ensures a common understanding and agreement of the business problem/opportunity, project objectives, solutions and benefits amongst all stakeholders
    • Applies appropriate Corporate Technology processes and practices for the problem/opportunity
    • Development of systems based solutions with associated process impacts and risks and review of same with HR business partners
    • Facilitates the assessment of the ability of business or system solutions to address the problem or opportunity
    • Development of test-scripts and conducting of systems testing
    • Contributes to the development of the business case initially & ongoing
    • Gains comprehensive understanding of the business processes of concern within given project, both manual and automated
    • Facilitates measurement and prioritization of problems, limitations, and requirements
    • Analyzes the ability of solutions to achieve the anticipated benefits and other success criteria (including evaluation of packaged software products)
    • Ensures the project fits with existing systems, without adverse impact, for systems training, production support and future work
    • Works with the team to ensure functional solution is consistent with technology direction, selection or limitations 
    • Works with the Project Manager, where one is assigned, to ensure clarity of tasks, deliverables and timelines
    • Meets all commitments with respect to solution completeness, quality, timeliness and cost

    Who you are:

    • Thorough knowledge of the HR domain and associated business structures and processes
    • Experience in building and sustaining direct relationships with HR business partners
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Effective communications and negotiation skills
    • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing systems-based solutions to address HR business requirements
    • Must be able to work with multiple tasks and deadlines
    • Education/skills acquired through combination of formal education, work experience and ongoing personal development
    • Minimum three years experience in an HR Systems Analyst role, preferably including:
      • Development and documentation of business requirements
      • System configuration, design/support of integration/interfacing (inbound & outbound), reporting, enhancements, testing. Good knowledge of HR processes and data is essential
    • Experience in working with vendors and holding them accountable for deliverables
