    Global Corporate Technology is responsible for Lifeco’s Global and Canadian Chief Financial Officer services and oversight functions, as well as Great-West Life’s Canadian operation’s back office functions.


    Great-West Life’s Technology Delivery organization within Global Corporate Technology is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Manager, Project Delivery to join our team.  Due to an increase in the amount of contingent labour used to deliver projects, this individual is responsible for sourcing and managing contract resources, and leading the implementation of selected technology and business change solutions that support business strategies and goals. They provide support to the Director, Technology Delivery. This leader has accountability for balancing supply and demand of contract project management and analysis resources for business and technology projects within the areas of the business the GCT support, and providing delivery leadership in terms of GCT’s processes, practices and methodologies. 


    What you’ll do:

    • Accountable for contract resources used in project delivery, this includes the recruitment life cycle from vendor contact to termination.  Also ensuring the efficient and effective use of contingent labour.
    • Accountable for ensuring Project Management and Application Delivery methodologies are followed by contract resources.
    • Leads a high-performance culture for teams that supports change within the area.
    • Develops and maintain relationships with business partners, other Information Services leaders, technology vendors and industry forums to understand product and technology directions to fill temporary and niche skill demands.
    • Builds and maintains relationships with vendors that provide contract resources
    • Develops delivery plans and drives effective application of technology to support business strategy achievement.
    • Work proactively with internal clients to understand their needs and deliver creative solutions.
    • Works with the Delivery leadership team to manage staff and contract resource assignments.
    • Ensures high quality delivery of leading edge solutions that meet business needs.
    • Builds and maintains an integrated view of how technology platforms can best deliver high quality service for our customers and advisors.
    • Articulates technology opportunities, constraints and risks in the development of the business plan.
    • Work with vendors in all locations and Contract Management to acquire and manage contract resources.

    What really sets you apart:

    • Post-secondary education in business or technology-related field. PMP Certification is desirable.
    • Minimum 7 years of industry-related experience delivering technology programs to businesses. SAP and agile project delivery experience is desirable.
    • Minimum 5 years progressive leadership experience related to both projects and teams.
    • Must have the proven ability to serve as an effective member of a management team, be an effective leader to a team of highly trained employees and consultants; and interact effectively with risk and data managers, auditors, consultants, vendors, and stakeholders
    • Strong relationship management, partnering and collaboration skills to be effective in influencing stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare communications and interact effectively with all levels, technical and non-technical within the organization.
    • Preference and experience working in an environment that is complex, rapidly evolving, and ambiguous with high expectations for excellence and achievement
    • Critical thinker with a high degree of business acumen and decision making.
    • Ability to travel.
