    Individual Customer Technology (IC Tech) is an organization providing information technology solutions to London Life, Great-West Life and Canada Life. In IC Tech, the Customer is at the centre of what we do.


    Our IC Tech professionals make a significant contribution to the companies' business goals through the effective delivery of value-added services. These services include setting technology direction, project management analysis, system architecture, software development and the provision of operational support services for our Individual Customer business unit.


    The Associate Application Delivery Manager is accountable for the delivery, support and availability of both software and robotic process automation systems.  You have a beginner’s mind in continually looking for and experimenting with new ways to work together, grow together and deliver consistently higher levels of human and system performance.  You place the customer at the centre of what you do and enthusiastically build relationships with people so we more deeply understand one another’s needs.    


    You will design and implement processes and systems, and support a culture, that deliver exceptional 1st and 2nd level support to our customers.  The Associate Application Delivery Manager works closely with the Manager, Application Support to develop annual plans and budgets for application maintenance so we continue to deliver products and services which truly improve our business 


    The role collaborates with the aligned project delivery teams deploying/standing up applications and, transitioning into production. As well, it may provide Centre of Expertise for select shared common applications and platforms as delegated.  The Associate Application Delivery Manager will help define agreed service levels and has a mandate to ensure they are met and continuously improved on.

    • Supports long term and daily technology operations by ensuring the efficient and effective use of financial and people resources and, ensures the ongoing continuity of expertise to support applications for the business unit
    • Responsible for all aspects of application support, with recommendations on maintenance of application health and effectiveness based on assessments
    • Participates on behalf of business unit in the event of critical technology incident, disaster recovery, and testing.
    • Collaborates with business unit leaders to anticipate and respond to customer inquiries about technology capabilities and service expectations.
    • Sets a high-performance culture for staff, and support the culture changes within the business unit as a leader in the organization.
    • Accountable to manage application support resources consistent with the business unit’s technology investment and prudent financial management principles.
    • Assists with, and ensures delivery of: all discretionary and non-discretionary projects and services, and day-to-day operational support
    • Ensures support and maintenance of Applications
    • Ensures methodologies and standards for Application Support Processes are in place and followed
    • Supports Corporate Mandates
    • Maintains relations with business leaders
    • Helps the team set and coaches them through achieving their wildly important goals related to their personal and professional development



    Qualifications and Competencies:

    • 7+ years in software development and delivery
    • Previous experience in financial services, preferably in insurance working in a regulated environment
    • Prior experience leading a high-performing team is a huge asset.
    • An uncommon passion around building relationships with people throughout our organization.
    • A fantastic track record of using data, intuition and relationships to uncover and deliver opportunities for improvement
    • An obsession with quality, operational excellence, and customer experience
    • A bias towards looking for and building on the inherent strengths in people and human systems
    • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
    • Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
    • A proven ability to influence significant and lasting change.
