  • Job Description

    The Senior Data Analyst is accountable for developing Data Warehouse, Big Data and Business Intelligence/Analytics data solutions. Working under the guidance of Senior Data Analysts and Developers, they develop database solutions based on data requirements and design. The primary activities for data development include: data extraction, consumption and storage. In addition to development they support data solution assessment, design, testing and ongoing operational support.




    • Design database and develop data solution for data consumption, extraction and publication.
    • Develop data storage solutions in relational, data warehouse, and big data environments.
    • Complete unit testing and validation of data solutions
    • Participate in implementation planning, deployment, and ongoing operational support
    • Provide input to design of solutions for migration of data to common data repositories
    • Support design activities including logical data modeling, data mapping, and physical database design
    • Provide operational support for data storage solutions including audit, security, and recovery and back up.
    • Provide support for application support teams, and business users in issue resolution



    Qualifications and Competencies:

    • Bachelors’ degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics and/or equivalent IT-based course, training and experience
    • 10+ years of experience in developing data solutions including Data Warehouse and Big Data environments
    • Good understanding of logical and physical data modeling design and techniques (Preferably using Erwin)
    • At least 5 years of database development experience using MS SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in data warehouse design including: relational data modeling and design (including data normalization and star-schema design techniques).
    • Exposure to Big Data technology, data analytics, and data integration tooling (ETL or equivalent)
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
