    Role Description

     

    This is your opportunity to help transform one of Canada's largest and most trusted companies and join the Digital Customer Experience unit of Canada Life.   You will become an integral part of a company going through a major rebranding initiative and a digital evolution.

     

    We are looking for a bright, energetic obsessed User Experience Architect that will design multiple complex sites, tools, and applications. Your innovative digital experiences will deliver on excellent end-to-end customer experiences and exceptional business value.    

     

    You ALWAYS think about the customer first and challenge traditional ways of thinking. You are a creative problem-solver with excellent storytelling skills. 

     

    Accountabilities:

    • Contribute to the UX strategy and execution of our digital rebranding efforts; this includes a large site redesign and an amalgamation of digital experiences that drive increased engagement, usability and conversions.
    • Collaborate with business partners, stakeholders and internal teams to help turn business requirements, user needs and creative strategy into engaging experiences.
    • Assess and synthesize data from multiple sources (User research, digital analytics, seo, product) to develop efficient user scenarios, taxonomies, navigation systems, components, wireframes etc.
    • Perform and contribute to UX analysis methods (heuristic evaluations, usability testing, card sorting, task and experience mapping).
    • Create and effectively present UX artifacts (flows, sketches, wireframes, journey maps, prototypes, etc.) to stakeholders and teams.
    • Support the strategic design of customer experience solutions throughout the entire lifecycle of the product.
    • Think in terms of patterns, components and systems to support cross-product design consistency.
    • Stay current on emerging trends in user-centered methodologies, accessibility, UI design patterns, usability principles and web technologies.
    • Work collaboratively with a variety of teams (research, content, digital marketing, business owners, product owners, project managers) to provide and improve on the user experience of the product.

     

    Qualifications and Competencies:

    • 3+ years of professional experience in a UX/UI or Interaction Design role.
    • A demonstrable portfolio of work that exhibits your process for solving design problems.
    • Ability to be flexible on a team and work in an open, inclusive, diverse and collaborative environment.
    • Relationship builder who understands the importance working with stakeholders and teams towards a happy client and customer.
    • Excellent communicator with the ability to break down complex processes, problems and issues into simple effective solutions.
    • Detail oriented, organized and is able to manage time effectively.
    • Passionate about user experience and all things digital.
    • Experience with industry tools such as Sketch, InVision.  Experience with Axure is an asset.
